1958 ZURICH and SAN COLOMBANO
Roberto grows up between Italy and Switzerland.
1979-1984 PARIS
At twenty-two he moves to Paris where he begins to work as an independent artist. He travels to Marocco, Algeria, the Sahara Desert, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana. He sojourns part of the year in Zurich and Berlin.
1984-1985 BOLOGNA
Opens his workshop in the Chiesa degli Angeli. Wins the Italian Provincia di Bologna National Painting Competition.
1985-1990 CADAQUES
Lives in Cadaqués, Spain. Influenced by artists such as Salvador Dali, Man Ray, Marcel Duchamps etc.
1990-1994 SAN COLOMBANO
Returns to his village to be with his father. Takes care of him while he is ill. Together they restore Casa de None, the 300-year-old family house in the village of San Colombano. His father dies. Roberto travels to HK, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok.
1994-1996 TUCUPITA
Lives in the Tucupita jungle, capital of the Delta Amacuro state, on the Orinoco River, in Venezuela. Marries Selumar Alvarez and his first son, Alberto, is born.
1997 SAN COLOMBANO
They return together to San Colombano and their daughter, Vittoria, is born.
1998 - 2004 CADAQUES, SAN COLOMBANO, VENEZUELA
Roberto works in Cadaqués, San Colombano and Venezuela.
2004 - 2006 FRANKFURT AM MAIN
Roberto lives and works in Frankfurt am Main.
